Got new issue of Bust which had a couple of good interviews w/Amy Schumer and Mayim Bialik (from Blossom + The Big Bang Theory + she's just done her own vegan cookbook) plus an article on the price of fashion and the usual reviews/beauty + fashion stuff/DIY projects.

New issue of Bust came the other day - it included articles on female furries + egg donation plus interviews w/Shailene Woodley and Retta plus loads more - reviews, fashion/beauty, DIY stuff etc. I really wish BUST was more widely available in the UK (I subscribe so get it sent out to me directly).

Forgot to mention that I got new issue of Bust a while ago - a couple of good interviews w/ Paramore's Hayley Williams + Rookie Mag's Tavi Gevinson plus a review of The Punk Singer (documentary about Kathleen Hanna) and a mention that there's a documentary about Bettie Page (which I must try + track down). Plus the usual craft-y/DIY type things.

Also had an interesting article on plus size fashion and how hard it is for magazines to feature it in their fashion pages even if they want to - I really do struggle to find things that fit ( Read more... )

I finally saw The Artist, I thought it was OK but a bit over-hyped. I think, for me, the most interesting part was the way it had been filmed - I find the silent picture era interesting as it was the start of that golden age of Hollywood and there were some interesting characters about then ( Read more... )

The new issue of BUST came - it was the music issue tho' I really wasn't that keen on any of the artists they featured tho' the Grimes interview & article on International Sweethearts of Rhythm (an all female swing band from 40s US) were interesting. I got the latest issue of BUST which cheered me up no end. It had an interview w/Jason Schwartzmann and articles on the pros and cons of freezing your eggs, living with HPV (what was formerly known as genital warts), the trend for Japanese women to go for 'herbivore' men (who are classed as men who are more gentle even feminine in their qualities) ( Read more... )
